This elk was on his hero's journey--a difficult climb up a huge mountain--and he's basking in the success of having made it to the top.  The spirit of this piece is "unconditional love," in a Universal sense. This feeling that no matter what I'm going through, there's love and purpose behind it: Something I'm learning, or uncovering, or becoming, as I move through what may appear on the surface to be a difficult time. That there's only love here, ultimately, and so there's nothing at all to be afraid of. The "Hinds feet" represent a new level of power this creature uncovered during his grueling journey.
