A few hours after I finished this piece, an actual peacock wandered into my backyard! (Completely true story.) 
Peacocks are considered very auspicious animals, representing good fortune, expansion, vision, and integrity. 
 
My friend stuck around for a few weeks and then left, never to be seen again. To this day, I have no idea where he came from or where he went.
